2021: Johnson, one of the nation’s premier long snappers, snapped for his fifth year as a 2021 senior, appearing in all 12 games. He had 1 tackle (at Washington State). He was named a 2021 Mannelly Award finalist (and Mannelly Award Mid-Season Top Performer) and made Phil Steele All-American second team and Phil Steele All-Pac-12 first team.
2020: Johnson was USC’s starting long snapper for a fourth season as a 2020 senior, appearing in all 6 games. He was named a finalist for the 2020 Mannelly Award and made Phil Steele All-American second team and Phil Steele All-Pac-12 first team.
2019: Johnson started for his third season as USC’s long snapper as a junior in 2019. Overall in 2019 while appearing in all 13 games, he had 2 tackles (both at Washington) and a fumble recovery (against Arizona). He made the 2019 Phil Steele All-American honorable mention and Phil Steele All-Pac-12 first team.
2018: Johnson started for his second season as USC’s long snapper as a sophomore in 2018. Overall in 2018 while appearing in all 12 games, he had 1 tackle (at Arizona).
2017: Johnson, who enrolled at USC in the spring of 2017 after transferring from a junior college, played in 12 games as USC’s starting long snapper as a first-year freshman in 2017. He suffered a concussion against Oregon State and missed the next 2 games (Utah, Notre Dame).
JUNIOR COLLEGE: He did not play football in 2016 while attending Citrus Junior College in Glendora (Calif.).
HIGH SCHOOL: As a long snapper at Glendora (Calif.) High, he had 6 tackles as a 2015 senior, 2 tackles as a 2014 junior and 1 tackle as a 2013 sophomore.
PERSONAL: He received his bachelor’s degree in sociology major at USC in the spring of 2020 and is now working on his master’s degree in communication management. He made the 2020 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll.
