HIGH SCHOOL: He made 2019 PrepStar All-Central Region and All-District 12-5A Division II first team as a senior offensive tackle at Barbers Hill High in Mont Belvieu (Tex.).
As a 2018 junior, he allowed just 2 sacks.
He also played basketball at Barbers Hill.
PERSONAL: His sister, Charli, was a center on the Texas women’s basketball team (2019-21) and was the No. 1 pick of the 2021 WNBA Draft when she was chosen by the Dallas Wings. His late father, Elliott, played basketball at Montana State in the late 1980s. His mother, Ponda (Griggs), played center at Southwestern University (1986-90).
