CAREER: He has 178 career catches for 2,270 yards (12.8 avg) and 16 TDs in his career to rank 11th on USC’s career receptions list (tied for r47th on the Pac-12 career ladder). He has 7 career 100-yard receiving games. He had a streak of 4 consecutive 100-yard receiving outings (last 2 games in 2019, first 2 in 2020). He also has 9 carries for 69 yards (7.7 avg) with 1 TD, 19 punt returns for 107 yards (5.6 avg), 2 kickoff returns for 43 yards (23.5 avg) and 2 tackles in his career. He has appeared in 31 games in his career, with 23 starts.
2020: The hard-to-shut-down St. Brown was dominant while starting again at wide receiver as a junior in 2020. Overall in 2020 while starting all 6 games, he had a team-best 41 receptions for 478 yards (11.7 avg) with a team-high 7 TDs, plus he had a team-best 6 punt returns for 32 yards (5.3 avg), had 2 kickoff returns for 43 yards (21.5 avg) and made a tackle. He was 15th nationally in receptions (6.8, third in Pac-12). He was named to the 2020 All-Pac-12 first team, AP All-Pac-12 first team, Pro Football Focus All-Pac-12 first team and Phil Steele All-Pac-12 first team. He was a USC captain. His 4 first quarter touchdowns against Washington State--7, 22, 4 and 2 yards--tied an NCAA record with 7 others (most recently in 2002) for most TDs of any kind in a quarter (it also set a Pac-12 mark) and he became just the second player in NCAA history to catch 4 TDs in a quarter (the other was in 1997), and he also tied the Pac-12 and USC records for most TD receptions in a game (overall, he had 7 catches for 65 yards and returned a punt for -2 yards. He had a game- high 10 receptions for 72 yards with 2 TDs (a 3-yarder and then the game-winning 8-yarder with 16 seconds to play) and he made a tackle at UCLA. 2019: St. Brown had another outstanding season as a sophomore wide receiver and punt returner in 2019. Overall in 2019 while appearing in all 13 games and starting 12 times (all but BYU), he had 77 receptions for 1,042 yards (13.5 avg) with 6 TDs, plus 7 carries for 60 yards (8.6 avg) with 1 TD and 12 punt returns for 66 yards (5.5 avg). He had 4 100-yard receiving games in 2019. His 77 receptions is 12th on USC’s season receptions list. He made 2019 All-Pac-12 honorable mention and Phil Steele All-Pac-12 second team. He won USC’s Trojan Way Leadership Award. He had 2019 post-season surgery for a sports hernia.
He had 5 catches for 38 yards against Fresno State, then 8 catches for 97 yards with 2 TDs (39 and 7 yards) against Stanford. He had a 4-yard catch at BYU, 5 catches for 68 yards with a 31-yard TD against Utah, a team-best 5 catches for 31 yards and returned a punt 6 yards at Washington and a game-best 8 receptions for 112 yards, with a 38-yard TD, and a 10-yard punt return at Notre Dame. He had 9 catches for 163 yards (both game highs) against Iowa.
2018: St. Brown made quite an impact as a first-year freshman wide receiver in 2018. Overall in 2018 while appearing in all 12 games and starting 5 times (Washington State, Oregon State, California, UCLA, Notre Dame), he had a team-best 60 receptions for 750 yards (12.5 avg) with 3 TDs and also had 2 rushes for 9 yards (4.5 avg), a 9-yard punt return and a tackle. He was just the fourth USC true freshman to lead the Trojans in season receptions (along with WRs Mike Williams in 2002, Dwayne Jarrett in 2004 and Robert Woods in 2010). He made 2018 Pac-12 Freshman Offensive Player of the Year honorable mention. He shared USC’s John McKay Award. He was named to the 2018 ESPN Freshman Midseason All-American first team and 247Sports.com True Freshman Midseason All-American first team.
He had 7 receptions for 98 yards (both game bests) with a 43-yard TD along with a 12-yard run, a 9-yard punt return and a tackle against UNLV (no Trojan ever had more catches in their freshman debut). He then had 2 receptions for 39 yards at Stanford. He caught 9 passes for 167 yards (both game highs, as well as the most receiving yards by a USC true freshman since Marqise Lee’s 224 against UCLA in 2011) at Texas. He had 2 receptions for 38 yards with a 30-yard score against Washington State. He had a game-high 5 catches for 54 yards at Arizona, then 4 receptions for 31 yards against Colorado. He had 4 grabs for 39 yards against Arizona State, then had 5 catches for 39 yards at Oregon State. He had 6 receptions for 53 yards against California, 6 catches for 98 yards with a 44-yard TD at UCLA and 10 grabs for 94 yards against Notre Dame.
HIGH SCHOOL: He made 2017 USA Today All-USA first team, PrepStar Dream Team, Max Preps All-American first team, Orange County Register Fab 15 first team, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, USA Today All-California first team, Cal-Hi Sports All-State first team, All-CIF Division 1, Los Angeles Times All-Area, Orange County Register All-Orange County first team and All-Trinity League MVP as a senior wide receiver at Mater Dei High in Santa Ana (Calif.). In 2017 despite missing some early-season games with a hand injury, he had 72 receptions for 1,320 yards (18.3 avg) with 20 TDs, plus he returned 12 punts for 238 yards (19.8 avg) with 2 TDs and had an 11-yard kickoff return. Mater Dei went 15-0 in 2017, won the California CIF Division 1 title and the California State Open Division crown and was named the prep national champions.
As a 2016 junior, he made Max Preps Junior All-American, USA Today All-California first team, Max Preps All-State Large Schools first team, Cal-Hi Sports All-State second team, Cal-Hi Sports All-State Junior first team, All-CIF Division 1, Los Angeles Times All-Area first team, Orange County Register All-Orange County first team and All-Trinity League first team as he caught 60 passes for 1,229 yards (20.5 avg) with 21 TDs and had 16 punt returns for 260 yards (16.3 avg) with 1 TD. Mater Dei went 13-1 in 2016 and was the CIF Division 1 runnerup.
As a 2015 sophomore, he made Cal-Hi Sports All-State Sophomore second team as he had 22 receptions for 373 yards (17.0 avg) with 3 TDs and he returned 11 kickoffs for 335 yards (30.5 avg). His 44 career TD catches is an Orange County record. Current Trojans Frank Martin II, Chase McGrath, Solomon Tuliaupupu, John Jackson III, Bru McCoy and Clyde Moore also prepped at Mater Dei.
He spent his 2014 freshman season at Servite High in Anaheim (Calif.).
PERSONAL: He is a business administration major at USC with a 3.09 GPA. He is fluent in German (his mother, Miriam, is from Germany) and French (he lived in Paris as a fourth grader). His father, John Brown, was a bodybuilder who won 2 Mr. Universe and 3 Mr. World titles in the 1980s. His full name is Amon-Ra Julian Heru J. St. Brown (he was named after the Egyptian sun god Amon-Ra and sky god Heru). His brother, Equanimeous, was a wide receiver at Notre Dame (2015-17) who in his 3 meetings against USC blocked a punt that was returned for a TD in 2015, caught a TD pass among his 7 receptions in 2016 and caught another TD in 2017 (he now is with the Green Bay Packers), while his brother, Osiris, is a junior wide receiver at Stanford (he had 2 catches versus USC in 2019). In February of 2020, he participated in the NCAA Elite Student-Athlete Football Symposium in Indianapolis, which provides high-profile college athletes with information and networks to help them make decisions and understand issues surrounding a professional career in their sport.
