Bio
THIS YEAR: Senior Dominique Ruotolo is in her second season as a jumper on the USC track and field team, after transferring from Oregon where she ranks second on the school's all-time triple jump list. She was a 2022 All-American and World Championships Trials qualifier, 2021 Olympic Trials qualifier, 2021 Pac-12 champion and 2017 USA U20 bronze medalist. Ruotolo ranks sixth on USC's all-time outdoor triple jump list and 10th on the Trojans' indoor triple jump list.
2023: Ruotolo placed fourth in the triple jump (43-1.75) and fifth in the long jump (20-5.25w) at the Pac-12 Championships. She had a season-best triple jump of 43-6.50/13.27 (+1.5) to place fourth at the Florida Relays on April 1...that jump moved to her sixth on USC's all-time outdoor triple jump list. Ruotolo's wind-legal season best in the long jump also came at the Florida Relays, as she had a LJ of 20-2.50/6.16 (+1.6) to place second. He had an indoor long jump personal best of 18-10.00 (5.74m) at the Razorback Invitational on Jan. 27. She moved into 10th on USC's indoor long jump list with a jump of 40-9.25 (12.43) at the New Mexico Classic on March 4.
BEFORE USC: Ruotolo competed for two seasons at Oregon: 2022: She placed seventh with a triple jump of 43-6.50/13.27m (+0.2) at the NCAA Championships on June 11 to earn All-America honors. She was fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 44-8.75/13.63m (+2.4w) and 18th in the long jump with a mark of 20-2.25/6.15m (+0.1) at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds. She finished second in the long jump with a PR of 20-5.75/6.24m (+0.3), third in the triple jump (42-9) at the Pac-12 Championships. Set her high jump PR of 5-8.75 (1.75m) at the Oregon Relays. 2021: Finished ninth in the TJ at the NCAA Championships with a jump of 44-1.50/13.45m (+1.9). Advanced eighth out of the West Preliminary Rounds in the TJ with a jump of 43-10.75. She won the Pac-12 TJ title with a PR of 44-9.75/13.66m (-0.3) on May 16. Indoors, she placed 14th at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a TJ of 42-8.75/13.02m. She finished 13th in the TJ with a best jump of 42-11.50w at the U.S. Olympic Trials. 2020: Took second in the TJ at the MPSF Championships with a triple jump of 42-6.00 (12.95m), which ranked third among freshmen in the nation.
HIGH SCHOOL: Dominique is a 2018 graduate of Mater Dei High in Santa Ana, Calif. She was a bronze medalist in the TJ at the 2017 USA U20 Championships and placed sixth at the 2019 USA U20 Championships. She was a 2018 CIF State Championships qualifier in the LJ and TJ. Placed fourth in the LJ at the state meet. 2018 CIF-SS Division II champion in the TJ. Swept LJ and TJ titles at the 2018 CIF-SS Masters meet. She had high school bests of 41-6.75 in the TJ, 19-2.75 in the LJ and 5-8 in the HJ.
PERSONAL: Dominique was born April 19, 2000 in Aarau, Switzerland…Her parents are Frank and Aurelie Ruotolo…Dominique is one of six children, Gianni, Francesco, Daniella, Frank and Titan (2022 MPSF indoor TJ champion for UCR)…She enjoys painting in her free time…She speaks French and has lived in Switzerland, France and Cameroon…Lists U.S. tennis icon Serena Williams, as her biggest sports heroine…Lists Jack Harlow as her favorite musical performer…Aspires to continue her athletic career postgraduate…She is majoring in Non-Governmental Organizations and Social Change at USC.
