FUND NEW SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENTS
No gift makes a greater impact than a scholarship endowment, and no institution combines exceptional athletic and academic opportunities like USC. With 138 national championships and more Olympic medals than any other university, broad-based excellence is in USC’s DNA, and a scholarship to USC creates life-changing opportunities.Â
With the removal of NCAA scholarship limits beginning this year, USC will aim to endow 100 new scholarships before the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, securing the academic and athletic future of USC’s next generation of gold medalists, national champions, and accomplished scholars.
Though USC Athletics can now provide more scholarship support to our Olympic sports than ever before in this new era, cost of attendance continues to rise and is now at nearly $100,000 per student-athlete for the 2025-2026 academic year – the highest among Power Four schools.Â
For the 2025-2026 academic year, student-athlete scholarship costs totaled $30.7 million, and that number is projected to rise to $35.6 million in 2026-2027. Currently, the USC Athletics endowment generates only $8.7 million annually toward this critical cost, leaving a substantial funding gap each year.
Growing the USC Athletics scholarship endowment through philanthropic investment is vital to ensure USC can continue to recruit, develop, and graduate our talented student-athletes. Because the principal of your gift remains intact, when you endow a scholarship, your generosity to USC Athletics will live on forever and provide support to generations of future Trojans.
