USC Track and Field Prepares for Big Ten Indoor Championships

The Trojans will compete in over 16 events across three days
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – The USC track and field team is set to take the stage at the Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday in Indianapolis, aiming to build on last year's strong conference debut.
The Trojans currently hold the No. 1 time in the Big Ten this season in six different events. The Women of Troy are especially dominant in the 60m, owning the top five times in the conference.
TROJANS COMPETING AT CHAMPIONSHIPS
A total of 31 Trojans are slated to compete in this year's championship.
The men's roster includes Edward Nketia, JC Stevenson, Nickolas Miller, Jaelen Knox, Yougendy Mauricette, Jacob Andrews, Jack Stadlman, Cordial Vann, Elias Gerald, Jackson Norris, Chase McCallum and Wiaan Martin.
On the women's side, Asjah Atkinson, Lillian Harden, Lauren Reed, Jada Foreman, Ashley Erasmus, Dajaz DeFrand, Brianna Selby, Olivia Pace, Rachael Uvieghara, Madison Whyte, Alyssa Hope, Mia Brahe-Pedersen, Christine M. Mallard, Oluwatosin Awoleye, Takiya Cenci, Joelle Trepagnier and Madison Mosby are expected to represent USC.
LAST TIME OUT
At the Don Kirby Elite Invite, the Trojans posted standout performances in the 60 meters on both the men's and women's sides. For the men, Cordial Vann tied USC's freshman record that has stood since 2019. On the women's side, Dajaz DeFrand finished first in the 60 meters, setting a new season best in the event. In the men's 400m, Jack Stadlman broke the indoor 400m freshman record at 45.51.
At the Husky Classic, USC's distance runners competed in the 800 meters, where Oluwatosin Awoleye recorded a personal-best time of 2:06.44, the seventh-fastest mark in program history.
2025 BIG TEN INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
In 2025, the Trojans delivered standout performances on both sides, with the men's team finishing second overall and the women securing third. Four Trojans on both the men's and women's squads captured individual event titles. Dajaz DeFrand led the way on the women's side, setting a championship record in the 60-meter dash, while the women's 4x400-meter relay closed the meet with another Big Ten Indoor Championships record.
On the men's side, the Trojans delivered several impressive performances. JC Stevenson won the Big Ten title in the 60-meter dash, while Edward Nketia took fifth-place finish in the same event. In the 200m, Garrett Kaalund earned a runner-up finish, capping off a successful championship meet for the Trojan sprinters.
