Niki Withers is a senior outside hitter for the Women of Troy.
2016
As a junior, Withers appeared in all 32 matches with six starts and saw action in 118 (of 121) sets… finished the season with 298 kills (2.53 kps, third on the team) and 69 blocks (0.58 bps) as a primarily three-rotation player… ended the year with 333.5 points to rank second on the team… reached double-digit kills in 14 matches including collecting a season-high 19 kills at UCLA (Nov. 26)… earned double-digit points in 16 matches and had a season-high 19.5 points at UCLA.
2015
As a sophomore transfer from Cal State Fullerton, Withers appeared in 12 matches and played in 16 sets… collected 15 kills (.094 kps) with a .154 hitting percentage… finished with six digs and five blocks in limited action… had a career-high seven kills against Chicago State (Aug. 29).
2014 (CSU FULLERTON)
As a freshman at Cal State Fullerton, Withers was named to the Big West Conference All-Freshman Team… three-time Big West Conference Freshman Player of the Week (Sept. 1, Sept. 8, Sept. 22)… chosen to all-tournament teams at the Fullerton Classic and the Titan Classic… led the Titans with 417 kills (3.93 kps)… finished the season with 95 digs, 47 blocks, and three service aces… reached double-digit kills in 26 of the Titans’ 29 matches and recorded 20-plus kills in six matches including three 25-plus performances… set a career mark with 28 kills against UC Irvine (Nov. 22).
HIGH SCHOOL
Withers prepped at Long Beach Poly High School in Long Beach, Calif., under head coach Leland McGrath… played three years as an outside hitter on the varsity squad and was a three-time letterwinner… two-time All-Moore League first team as a junior and senior… All-Moore League second team as a sophomore… also competed on the track team in the high jump.
CLUB VOLLEYBALL
Withers played club volleyball with the Sunshine Volleyball Club in Manhattan Beach, Calif. also played for the Long Beach Mizuno Volleyball Club… named a 2013 PrepVolleyball.com Senior Ace.
PERSONAL
Nikia Withers was born on June 29, 1996, in Long Beach, Calif.… parents are Michael and Yvonne Withers… has three older siblings; Marcedes Lewis (33), Ashley Snow (30), and Cody (23) Withers… brother Marcedes played football at UCLA (2002-04) and is in his 12th season as a tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League… lists travel as one of her favorite pastimes… majoring in law, history, and culture.
