THIS SEASON: Lara Bate is a 2019 freshman from Baltimore, Md., who is originally from the U.K. She is a talented breaststroker who will compete with a deep Trojan breast corps to become a key point-scoring contributor.
HIGH SCHOOL: Bate, who was homeschooled, was third in the 200y breast at the 2018 Maryland Swimming Senior Short Course. She won the 200y breast at the 2017 Maryland Championships and was fifth in the 100y breast. The British native completed at the 2015 British Nationals, winning the 200m breast while setting a British national record for 15-year olds (2:26.55).

PERSONAL: Bate is originally from Bowdon, Cheshire, England. She is studying business administration.
