THIS SEASON: Elizabeth Stinson, a 2019 senior, is a Pac-12 champion miler looking to return to the NCAA Championships for the third time as she continues to be a solid distance freestyler for the Trojans.
2018: Stinson raced at the 2018 NCAA Championships for the second time as a junior. She was 58th in the 500y free (4:46.36) and 22nd in the 1650y free (16:08.44) … At the Pac-12s, Stinson was a finalist in the 1650y free for the second time, taking fifth in 16:09.64. She was also 13th in the 500y free (4:44.21) and 24th in the 400y IM (4:21.99) … Stinson took seventh in the 1650y free (16:14.11) at the Texas Invitational … Stinson claimed CSCAA Scholar All-American first team honors and Pac-12 All-Academic second team notice.
2017: Stinson, as a 2017 sophomore, raced in three events at the 2017 Pac-12 Championships, finishing 11th in the 1650y free (16:22.46), 25th in the 400y IM (4:28.33) and 29th in the 500y free (4:50.93) … She was 11th in the 1650y free at the Texas Invitational and won two dual meet races on the season … She was a 2017 CSCAA Scholar All-American honorable mention pick and Pac-12 All-Academic All-Academic second teamer.
2016: Stinson, as a 2016 freshman, was an NCAA scorer and Pac-12 titlist in the 1650y free. At the NCAA Championships, she finished 13th in the mile in 16:06.60 for her first NCAA points. She was also 50th in the 500y free (4:46.57). At the Pac-12 Championships, she continued her role as a distance stalwart for the Trojans. She won the Pac-12 title in the 1650y free, winning by seven seconds in 15:59.13 while also reaching the final of the 500y free, taking fourth in 4:42.93. Her mile and 500 times as well as her 1000 clip (9:40.81) were all personal bests ... She earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Associate of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America first team honors.
HIGH SCHOOL: Stinson, who prepped at Harpeth Hall School in Nashville, Tenn., led her school to the 2014 Tennessee state championship ... A 2012 Olympic Trials competitor in the 400m and 800m free and a 2016 Olympic Trials qualifier in the same events, Stinson posted one of the top 1500m times in the country in 2014.
