Bio
THIS SEASON: Courtney Caldwell is a redshirt junior All-American transfer from North Carolina State with a proven track record of top level freestyle sprinting who will be a boon for the Trojans’ dual meet and postseason scoring, individually and on relays. She is also a big scoring threat in the 100y back.
North Carolina State: Caldwell, a 2017 CSCAA Scholar All-American, was a four-time All-American in two seasons swimming for the Wolfpack. As a 2017 junior, she earned a pair of All-American honors, helping NC State to fourth in the 200y free relay and fifth in the 400y free relay. She also swam in the B final of the 100y free, finishing 13th overall (47.80), took 18th in the 100y back (51.90) and 20th in the 50y free (22.16) … At the 2017 ACC Championships, she was second in the 100y free (47.89), tied for third in the 50y free (22.00) and was fourth in the 100y back (51.75) while helping the Wolfpack to relay wins in the 200y and 400y free and 400y medley relays … Following the 2017 season, she finished fourth in the 50m back (28.16) at the 2017 U.S. Summer Nationals … She raced in three events after her freshman season at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials, finishing 35th in the 100m back (1:02.11) and 42nd in both the 50m (25.97) and 100m free (56.39) … As a 2016 freshman, she earned a pair of All-American honors in the 400y free and 400y medley relays and also swam the 100y back at NCAAs, finishing 25th (52.80).
HIGH SCHOOL: Caldwell graduated from Lawrence Free State High in Lawrence, Kan., where she was a prep All-American who earned All-State first team honors … She won three Kansas state titles, taking the 100y free (49.62) and 100y back (54.10) as a senior in 2015 and the 50y free (23.28) as a 2014 junior.

PERSONAL: Caldwell is majoring in non-governmental organizations and social change.
