2024: Polychroniou earned All-America honors in the hammer throw with a mark of 243-4 (74.18m) to place fifth at the NCAA Championships on June 5…it was his second consecutive fifth-place finish and All-America honors. He took second in the hammer throw for the second consecutive season at the Pac-12 Championships with a throw of 244-8 (74.58m) on May 11. He won the hammer throw competition at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 27 with a PR of 246-10 (75.24m) which moved him to third on the Trojans’ all-time list. Polychroniou has finished no lower than fifth place at any NCAA sanctioned meet over the last two seasons. During the summer, he placed eighth in the hammer throw with a mark of 234-0 (71.34m) at the Greek Championships on June 29.
2023: Polychroniou was a hammer throw All-American as he placed fifth at the NCAA Championships with a then-PR of 238-4 (72.65m). That throw moved him to sixth on USC’s all-time hammer throw list. Polychroniou advanced out of the NCAA West Prelims third with a best hammer throw of 234-1 and took second at the Pac-12 Championships with a mark of 233-0 and won the USC-UCLA Dual Meet hammer throw title with a toss of 238-1. During the summer he placed sixth at the Greece Athletics Championships (224-2/68.33m) and fifth at the European U23 Championships (234-7/71.50m) in the hammer throw.
2022: Polychroniou was slowed by injury during the outdoor season, but came back late in the season to take third at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet with a mark of 214-11 (65.52m) on April 30. He placed sixth with a season-best hammer throw mark of 217-11 (66.42m) at the Pac-12 Championships on May 14. He then finished 16th in the event with a throw of 210-9 (64.25m) at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds on May 25. Indoors, he placed seventh in the weight throw with a PR of 64-10.50 (19.77m) which is the USC freshman record and ranks fourth on the Trojans' all-time list. During the summer he placed fourth in the hammer throw (6K) with a mark of 249-9 (76.16m) at the World Athletics U20 Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Nikolaos Polychroniou is a 2021 graduate of Ellinogermaniki Agogi. He was the 2020 U18 world leader in the hammer throw with a mark of 260-10 (79.52m) in the 5K hammer…that throw was achieved at the Throws Festival in Tripoli, Greece and was over two meters farther than the next best mark in the world in 2020. He also had a then 6K hammer throw best of 242-2 (73.83) to win the U20 hammer throw at the 37th Thodia Meeting on June 13, 2021 in Tripoli. His regulation 16-pound hammer throw best is 222-3 (67.76m) on June 5, 2021 to place fifth at the Greece Championships held at Pampeloponnisiako Stadium. He was the 2020 and 2021 national champion in his age group in the hammer throw.

PERSONAL: Nikolaos was born on May 29, 2003…His parents are Christos and Angeliki and his has two brothers, Alex and George…His father placed sixth in the hammer throw at the 1999 World Championships and was a two-time Olympian…Nikolaos’ hobbies include listening to music, reading, playing the drums and going out with friends…His favorite food is burgers…Someday would like to travel to South Africa…He currently is an Exploratory major at USC.
