Bio
THIS YEAR: Graduate student Zane Golpariani is in his first season as a distance runner on the USC track and field team. He graduated in 2023 from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Chemistry.
BEFORE USC: Golpariani attended UC Santa Barbara from the fall of 2019 through the 2023 school year, competing in track and field and cross country. He has an 800m best of 1:56.29, a 1500m best of 3:53.71 and a 3000m steeplechase best of 9:01.82. His steeplechase best was run in placing fourth at the 2023 Big West Championships, his third consecutive season of scoring in the event at the conference meet. In cross country he had an 8K best of 24.57.6 and a 10K best of 33.39.9. UCSB won the 2021 Big West cross country team title.
HIGH SCHOOL: Golpariani is a 2019 graduate of De Norte High in San Diego, Calif. He was a two-time Division II state qualifier in cross country and helped lead his team to four league titles. He was a All-CIF San Diego second-team for cross country in 2018. He won the 2019 1600m Palomar League title. He had high school PRs of 1:57.40 in the 800m and 4:21.04 in the 1600m.
PERSONAL: Zane was born on July 28, 2001 in Los Angeles…His parents are Kam and Lee Golpariani and he has three younger siblings, Tucker, Libby and Dahlia…His hobbies include hiking, cooking and playing video games….His favorite shows are Breaking Bad and Attack on Titan…Says his favorite food is Costco Food Court food…Someday would like to travel to Africa, Kenya and South Africa…He is in the Chemistry PhD program at USC.
