THIS SEASON: Derrick Choi, a 2013 freshman, will provide depth in the back and free for the Trojans.
HIGH SCHOOL: Choi was a two-time prep All-American at Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass., where he was a co-captain and helped the school win three straight New England Prep School Swimming Championships (2010-12). He was also third in the 100y back as a senior at the meet. Choi has represented the Hong Kong national team and competed nine years for the Hong Kong Jockey Club swim team and has also competed in water polo ... Earned AP Scholar honor roll and participated in numerous community activities.
CLUB: Hong Kong Jockey Club.
PERSONAL: He was born on Jan. 25, 1994 ... Plays the clarinet and is a history major ... His father Tony is a USC graduate and his sister Michelle is currently enrolled at USC as well.
