Bio
THIS SEASON: Ted Singley, a 2016 senior, is one of the Pac-12's top milers who is also strong in the 500y free and 200y fly. A 2014 NCAA Championships participant, Singley is looking to make a return in his final year with the Trojans.
2015: Singley, as a 2015 junior, turned in his third straight top 8 finish in the 1650y free at the 2015 Pac-12 Championships, finishing sixth in 15:02.37. He was also 14th in the 500y free (4:20.76, PR) and 15th in the 200y fly (1:47.16) ... Singley earned 2015 Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention honors.
2014: Singley earned his first trip to the NCAA Championships as a 2014 sophomore, finishing 26th in the 1650y free (15:09.25), 36th in the 200y fly (1:47.09) and 50th in the 500y free (4:26.55) ... He posted a career-best fourth in the 1650y free (15:03.04) at the Pac-12 Championships and was 13th in the 500y free (4:22.01) and 14th in the 200y fly (1:48.66) ... He raced at the 2014 U.S. Summer Nationals, finishing 21st in the 1500m free (15:36.25), 33rd in the 200m fly (2:01.63) and competed in the 400m free.
2013: Singley's debut postseason appearance was highlighted by a sixth-place finish in the 1650y free (15:10.62, PR) at the 2013 Pac-12 Championships. He was also 13th in the 500y free (4:22.15, PR) and 19th in the 200y fly (1:48.39) ... At the 2012 U.S. Winter Nationals, he was fifth in the 1650y free (15:12.41), third in the `B' final of the 500y free (4:22.25) and fifth in the `B' final of the 200y fly (1:47.34).
HIGH SCHOOL: Singley, who preps at Carroll Senior High in Southlake, Texas, is a 2011-12 National Junior Teamer who was 19th in the 1500m free at the 2011 U.S. Nationals. He was second in the 500y free at the 2011 Texas UIL State Swimming Championships. A Scholastic All-American, he is also a rising open water swimmer ... He put forth a strong showing at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, finishing 16th in the 1500m free (15:33.23), 24th in the 200m fly and 30th in the 400m free (3:56.64).
