CAREER: He has 20 career starts. 2013: Martin returns for his third season as a starting offensive lineman as a junior in 2013, this season likely at center after spending the first two years at guard. 2012: Martin started for his second season at left offensive guard as a sophomore in 2012 after a decorated debut in 2011. He appeared in all 12 games in 2012, starting 10 times (all but California, Arizona State and Georgia Tech). 2011: Martin started the last 10 games at left offensive guard as a freshman in 2011, his first year at USC, and he performed very well. He made the 2011 Sporting News, CBSSports.com, CollegeFootballNews.com and FoxSportsNext.com Freshman All-American first team and Phil Steele Freshman All-American second team. When he got his first career start (against Syracuse), he became the first USC true freshman to start at offensive guard since Jeff Byers did so 4 times late in the 2004 season and the first to start on the offensive line since Kristofer O'Dowd did so at center 3 times early in the 2007 season. HIGH SCHOOL: His 2010 honors included Super Prep All-Farwest, Prep Star All-West, Long Beach Press-Telegram Best in the West Best of the Rest, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, Max Preps All-State Division I first team, SectionSports.com All-State second team, All-L.A. City Offensive Lineman of the Year and Los Angeles Times All-Star as a senior offensive lineman at Crenshaw (Calif.) High. Crenshaw won the 2010 L.A. City Division I championship. Crenshaw won the 2009 L.A. City Division I championship and played in the State Open Division title game. Current Trojan Hayes Pullard also prepped at Crenshaw. PERSONAL: He is an American studies and ethnicity (African American studies) major at USC. His cousin is Oregon junior defensive end Tony Washington.
