HIGH SCHOOL: He made 2012 Illinois High School Coaches Association All-State, Chicago Tribune All-State, IllinoisRivals.com All-State, Chicago Sun-Times All-Area, Cook County Suburban Life All-Area, Pioneer Press All-Area and All-Chicago Catholic League Player of the Year as a senior linebacker and running back at Fenwick High in Oak Park (Ill.). He had 138 tackles (with 22 for losses, including 4 sacks), 4 interceptions, 7 deflections, 2 fumble recoveries and 3 defensive TDs on defense and ran for 105 yards on 28 carries (3.8 avg.) with 4 TDs on offense in 2012.
He played quarterback as well as linebacker as a junior in 2011, when he made Cook County Suburban Life All-Area and All-Chicago Catholic League.
He also made All-Chicago Catholic League as a 2010 sophomore quarterback.
He also played basketball and baseball at Fenwick.
