Perales should be the starting center fielder for the Trojans as a 2005 sophomore. 2005
Perales started in 17 of 19 games during his 2005 sophomore season before a back injury sidelined him for the remainder of the year...he batted .266 (17-for-64) with a home run and nine RBI...his lone home run of the season came on March 15 at San Diego...went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI on March 1 against UC Riverside.

He started in every game as a 2004 freshman with 53 of 56 starts in center field and three in right field...batted .286 (54-for-189) with two home runs and 34 RBI...had a season-long nine-game hitting streak from Feb. 27 through March 13, batting .485 (16-for-33) with two home runs, 10 RBI and nine runs scored...earned co-most valuable player honors at the Kia Baseball Bash in Fullerton after going 6-for-11 (.545) with four runs scored, two home runs and four RBI...went 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBI on March 6 against No. 1 Stanford...recorded a four-RBI game on April 17 at Washington State, going 2-for-2 with a double...played during the summer with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League and batted .296 (42-for-142) with 10 doubles, three home runs and 16 RBI in 40 games...he earned all-league honors and was named to the 2004 CCBL All-Star Game...rated as the No. 24 top prospect in the league by Baseball America.
