THIS SEASON: Isabella Rongione is a 2020 junior who is sitting out the season while focusing on training for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Trials.
2019: Rongione, as a 2019 sophomore, competed in the distance freestyle events in the fall semester, but sat out the spring.
2018: Rongione, as a 2018 freshman, competed twice at the Pac-12 Championships, taking 14th in the 1650y free (16:31.66) and 27th in the 500y free (4:49.57) … She was 13th in the 500y free (4:45.46) at the Texas Invitational and ninth in the 1650y free (16:24.75). After the season, she was tabbed a CSCAA Scholar All-American honorable mention selection … She raced twice at the 2018 U.S. Summer Nationals, finishing 30th in the 400m free (4:18.19) and 39th in the 800m free (8:51.75).
HIGH SCHOOL: Rongione prepped at Langley High in McLean, Va., where she was a member of the USA Swimming National Junior Team in open water. At the 2017 U.S. Swimming Open Water Championships, she was 13th in the 10K and 14th in the 5K. She also competed at the 2017 NCSA Spring Junior National Championship, placing third in the 1650y free and fourth in the 1000y free … At the 2017 U.S. Summer Nationals, she was 13th in the 800m free and 19th in the 1500m free. Rogione won three state title as a prep swimmer, taking the 500y free as a 2017 senior and the 200y and 500y free as a 2014 freshman … At the 2016 NCSA Summer Swimming Championship, Rongione placed in the top 10 in seven events and won the 400m and 800m free … She raced in the 400m free (32nd), 800m free (18th) and 200m fly (62nd) at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials … Rongione, at the 2015 Speedo Junior National Championships, won the 1500m free (16:29.41) … She still holds National Age Group Records for her time of 8:55.43 in the 800 Free and 16:48.12 in the 1500 Free when she was 12.

PERSONAL: She is majoring in Human Biology and hopes to become a doctor. Her father, Anthony, is a surgeon and played tennis at Boston University … She has three siblings, triplets Nathan, Natalia and Nicholas.
