No. 16 USC Men's Basketball Beats Long Beach State, 73-62, For 10th Straight Win

LOS ANGELES — Isaiah Mobley scored 14 of his 21 points in the second half, Drew Peterson had 15 and No. 16 USC men's basketball held off Long Beach State for a 73-62 win in front of over 5,500 fans at Galen Center on Sunday.
It was the Trojans' 10th straight win to open the season. They remain as one of seven undefeated teams in Division I men's basketball.
Mobley also had 12 rebounds for his fourth double-double in five games. Peterson shot 6-for-8 from the field and made several acrobatic baskets during the first half.

Max Agbonkpolo finished with 11 points. Chevez Goodwin contributed nine points and seven rebounds.
The Trojans (10-0, 2-0 Pac-12) defeated the Beach (3-7) despite being outrebound 35-34 and giving up 15 turnovers. USC limited Long Beach State to 38.3% and have held all 10 of their opponents to under 40% shooting this season.
Long Beach State opened the game with a 7-2 run and took control over most of the first half, forcing nine Trojan turnovers.
The Beach were about to take a lead into halftime, but Drew Peterson hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to tie the game into the break.

USC built on Peterson's big shot and opened the second half with a 14-0 run — highlighted by Mobley's and-one — to permanently take the lead. The Beach had several efforts to get back into the game but a fastbreak slam from Mobley and big 3-pointers from Agbonkpolo, Peterson and Boogie Ellis kept them out of reach.

The Trojans conclude their three-game homestand Wednesday against UC Irvine before playing two neutral-sites classics against Georgia Tech in Phoenix and against Oklahoma State on Oklahoma City.
Riley Introduced To USC Fans
New USC head football coach Lincoln Riley made his first public appearance to fans at the game and sat courtside.
Riley was introduced in a ceremony during a first-half timeout and addressed Galen Center.
"We came here for one reason and that's to win championships," Riley told the crowd.
