The USC women's rowing team competed in their only fall regatta today (Nov. 10) at the San Diego Fall Classic at Mission Bay - Crown Point in San Diego, and raced will showing great promise for the upcoming season as Trojan boats placed first in the Women's Open 2- and the Women's Open Frosh/Novice races.
"The San Diego Fall Classic (SDFC) was once against a great development opportunity for us," said head coach Josh Adam. "We want to thank the San Diego Rowing Club and Chris Callaghan for putting on a great event. As a team, we found a lot of growth edges for how to manage ourselves at a regatta as well as how to race. The highlight for us was getting the newest group of walk-ons incorporated into racing boats. We watched the team develop throughout the regatta.
"In rowing, racing is the highest level of practicing being an elite-level athlete. This SDFC was really great practice for us as we look towards developing ourselves and our speed for the spring 2000m sprint season."
