2021-22 SEASON: Sophia Bogert enters her junior season as a member of the USC rowing team.
2020-21 SEASON: Bogert competed in seven races during her sophomore season… Helped the Varsity Second Varsity 8+ defeat San Diego State in a dual…Competed with the Varsity 8+ at the Lake Las Vegas Pac-12 Invitational…Finished in third at the Dexter Lake Invitational with the Varsity 8+… Placed seventh at the Pac-12 Championships with the Varsity 8+.
2019-20 SEASON: Bogert competed in three races during her freshman season….The 2019-20 rowing season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic….Her most notable finish was winning the Women’s Open Novice 8+ at the San Diego Fall Classic…She also raced with the Second Varsity 8 at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational where her boat placed second behind Washington.
HIGH SCHOOL: Bogert earned three varsity letters for swimming and one for badminton at Coral Reef Senior High School in Miami, Fla.
CLUB: Competed for the Miami Rowing Club for two years…First place finishes in the LTWT 4+ at the FSRA Sweep Championships and the Southeast Championships…Placed seventh at the 2019 Youth Nationals in the LTWT4+...Finished seventeenth at the 2018 Youth Nationals in the LTWT 8+.
PERSONAL: Sophia Alexandra Bogert was born on August 30, 2001, in Miami, Fla….Daughter of Aileen and Jeff Bogert…Has two sisters, Gabrielle and Rebecca…Father Jeff played football at Hofstra University…Mother Aileen is an Ironman triathlete…In her spare time, listens to music and is trying to learn guitar…Favorite musicians are Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones and Flume…Would like to visit the moon…Majoring in physics with the goal of getting a Masters and PhD in astrophysics after graduation.
