THIS SEASON: Dagmar Gudmundsson enters her second season at USC.
2016: Gudmundsson scored nine goals as a true freshman... Scored in six games... Set career high with four goals scored vs. Redlands... First career goal was scored vs. Santa Clara on Feb. 13... A member of the MPSF and NCAA Tournament rosters.
NATIONAL TEAMS: Gudmundsson is a member of the U.S. Youth National Team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Gudmundsson was a two-sport star at Hanford West High and was named Hanford Sentinal All-County Player and Swimmer of the Year in 2012... In water polo, was named the CIF Central Section Division II MVP and league MVP in 2012 after helping lead Hanford West to the section championship... Also was a two-time CIF Central Section first team pick... In swimming, was a four-time All-County Swimmer of the Year and four-time Fresno Bee first team honoree... Went undefeated in league meets in the 50 and 100 freestyle all four years... A four-time CIF Central Section DII champion in the 50 free and two-time winner of the 100 free... Played club water polo for Socal and SET... An honor student.
PERSONAL: Gudmundsson is majoring in communication and hopes to pursue a career in sports media... Parents are Jen and Markus... Has one brother, Tor... Her grandfather coached the Iceland men’s ski team in the 1968 Olympic Games... Enjoys snowboarding, hiking and fishing in her free time... Has always wanted to skydive... Hopes to travel to New Zealand and Ireland... Would like to get involved with nonprofit volunteer work while at USC... Also considering joining the USC Quidditch team... Born Jan. 10, 1997.
