2024: Fierro was injured and did not compete during the outdoor season. He did compete in his first four indoor meets as a Trojan. He set his one-mile PR of 4:08.19 to move into eighth on USC’s all-time indoor list and to place third at the Ted Nelson Invitational on Jan. 20. He ran a personal best and the second-fastest indoor 3000m race in USC history of 8:14.23 at the Eagle Elite Invitational on Feb. 10.
2023: Showed his versatility for the Trojans throughout the season, He placed third in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:27.56 and third in his first career 400m hurdles with a time of 66.05 at the USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 30. He set his 3000m SC personal best and placed ninth in the evenat the Mt. SAC Relays with a time of 9:11.27...that time moved him to eighth on USC's all-time list. He won the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:39.80 at the Aztec Invitational on March 24. He also placed third in the 5000m race with a time of 15:11.41 at the Aztec Invitational on March 25. He placed 11th in the steeplechase at the Pac-12 Championships on May 13 with a time of 9:35.45.
HIGH SCHOOL: Fierro graduated from Staples High in Westport, Conn. in 2020. He was a three-time team captain at Staples HS with personal bests of 4:21 in the mile and 9:24 in the 3200m. He was the 2020 CIAC LL 1600m champion. In 2019, he was the FCIAC cross country champion. He was a two-time FCIAC 1600m champion and 3200m champion. He earned 2019 All-New England cross country honors and was a three-time CIAC All-State honor recipient. Two times he received the Staples MVP Award for the most outstanding runner and was a New Balance Nationals qualifier. He was the Staples indoor track Scholar Athlete Award recipient and AP Scholar, First Honors recipient.
PERSONAL: Morgan was born on June 7, 2002 in New York, New York…His parents are Lisa and Dough Fierro and he has one sister, Alexandra…His interests include surfing, writing and thinking…His favorite actor is Leonardo DiCaprio, favorite musical artist is Kanye West and favorite movies are Back to the Future, Seven and Catch Me If You Can…His favorite foods are candied yams and fish and chips…Someday would like to travel to Italy and to Hawai’i…Lists Joe Frazier as his sports hero…He is majoring in Narrative Studies.
