April 01, 2026 | Track & Field
LOS ANGELES – The Big Ten conference announced Racquil Broderick and Jada Foreman as Big Ten Field Athletes of the Week for April 1, 2026. Both Broderick and Foreman hold the top mark in the Big Ten for their respective events to start the season.
Broderick earns Big Ten Men's Field Athlete of the Week following an NCAA-leading throw in the men's discus at the Trojan Invite. He recorded a best mark of 62.87m on his first throw of the season, achieving over 60m on every measurable mark of his junior season debut. The Jamaica native most recently won a Big Ten weekly award following last season's Trojan Invite where he broke the school record.
Foreman enters her senior season with the No. 1 mark in Big Ten and No. 2 in NCAA this season in triple jump. Her new personal-best jump of 13.14m at the Trojan Invite is the first mark over 13m in the conference to start the season. In addition to her triple jump win, she set a new personal record of 6.17m in long jump. This is the first Big Ten weekly award for the Virginia native.
Trojans earning Big Ten honors this season are: Garrett Kaalund (Jan. 21, Feb. 11), Madison Whyte (Feb. 11), Ashley Erasmus (Feb. 11), Oluwatosin Awoleye (Feb. 11), Racquil Broderick (Apr. 1) and Jada Foreman (Apr. 1).
