THIS YEAR:Â Junior Jassani Carter is in her third season as a sprinter on the USC track and field team. She ranks tied for seventh on USC's all-time 100m dash list, sixth on the Trojan all-time outdoor 200m list and tied for ninth on its 60m dash list.
2024: Carter was an outdoor All-American in the 200m, placing fifth at the NCAA Championships with a time of 22.66 (+1.0). She ran a personal-best and moved into sixth place on USC’s all-time 200m list with a time of 22.46 (+0.3) in the semifinals. She also reached the NCAA semifinal in the 100m where she ran 11.27 (+0.7). Carter advanced out of the NCAA West Prelims with a 100m PR of 11.09 (+1.2), which ranks tied for seventh on USC’s all-time list. She placed second in both the 100m and 200m at the Pac-12 Championships and after the season advanced to the semifinals in both events at the U.S. Olympic Trials. She also anchored USC's winning 4x100m relay at Pac-12s which ran the seventh-fastest time in school history of 42.87. Carter competed in four indoor meets, posting her indoor 200m PR of 23.15 in winning at the Ted Nelson Invitational on Jan.20. That time ranks 11th on USC’s all-time indoor list.  She also set her 60m PR of 7.27 which ranks tied for ninth on USC’s all-time list in the prelims at the Spokane Sports Showcase on Jan. 12.
PERSONAL: Jassani was born November 4, 2003 in Hollywood, Fla… Her parents are Jessica and Jonathon Carter, and she is one of four siblings with Joysha, Jaydea and Jonathan…Enjoys studying fashion in her free time…Lists her parents as her biggest sports heroes…Aspires to continue her track and field career postgraduate… She currently is undecided on her major.

2023: Carter recorded a then personal best in the 100m race at the NCAA Quarterfinals running 11.25 (+1.0) and a then personal best in the 200m at the NCAA Semifinal running 22.77 (+0.8), earning second-team All-America honors in the event. She placed fourth in the 100m with a time of 11.44 (+0.7) and fifth in the 200m with a time of 22.80 (+1.9) at the Pac-12 Championships on May 14. She qualified for the USATF Championships in the 200m and placed 21st with a time of 23.15 (+0.2). During the indoor season Carter recorded a personal best of 7.47 in the 60m dash at the Cougar Classic on Jan. 13. She also posted an indoor 200m best of 23.48 in placing second at the New Mexico Classic on Feb. 3.
HIGH SCHOOL: Carter, from Hollywood, Florida, has bests of 11.53 in the 100m and 23.43 (23.31w) in the 200m. She graduated from Flanagan HS and won the 100m and 200m dashes as a junior and senior at the Florida High School state meet (FHSAA). Carter won the 2022 100m title with a wind-legal PR of 11.53 and the 200m with a PR of 23.43.
