THIS SEASON: Jason O'Brien is a 2018 senior who will continue to provide dual meet depth in the freestyle for the Trojans as well as in the back, looking to increase his postseason scoring punch.\
2017: O'Brien swam as an exhibition entry at the 2017 Pac-12 Championships as a junior in the 100y, 200y and 500y free. His top time of the year in the 500y free (4:24.21) was an NCAA B cut. He swam in five events at the Texas Invitational and was a regular in the 200y and 500y free double in Trojan dual meets.
2016: O'Brien raced in three races at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships as a sophomore, finishing 14th in the 200y back (1:48.01, PR 1:47.08 in prelims), 18th in the 500y free (4:25.92) and 21st in the 200y free (1:40.10).
2015: O'Brien, as a 2015 freshman, raced primarily as a middle-to-distance freestyler, lending good depth there as well as in the 200y fly. He also competed some on USC's 800y free relay.
HIGH SCHOOL: O'Brien prepped at Point Loma High in San Diego, Calif. ... He was second in both the 200y and 500y free at the 2014 CIF-San Diego Section Div. II Championship ... O'Brien also competed at the 2014 Speedo Junior National Championships, the 2013 Speedo Winter Junior National Championships, and the 2013 USA Swimming Junior National Championships, predominantly in freestyle races.

PERSONAL: He is majoring in International Relations and the Global Economy.
