Bio
BREAKDOWN: Redshirt senior guard Tahj Eaddy is a 6-2, 165-pound guard who transferred to USC for graduate school after the 2019-20 season with one year of eligibility remaining. He is an experienced guard who has a quick burst, a complete offensive game and the ability to both score and distribute the ball. Eaddy began his career at Southeast Missouri State before transferring to Santa Clara. Enters the season 10 points shy of 1,000 career points scored.
2019-20: Eaddy averaged 9.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, while making 83.0 percent of his free throws (44 -for-53). He played in all 33 games for the Broncos, making 14 starts. He scored in double figures 15 times, including in seven of the final 10 games. He was third on the team in steals with a career-high 30. He scored 19 points vs. Denver on Nov. 27. Came off the bench on Dec. 7 vs. California, snapping a streak of 41 consecutive starts. He scored all 10 of his points in the second half of the win vs. San Jose State on Dec. 18. Scored 16 points in 35 minutes off the bench vs. Pepperdine on Jan. 23. Returned to the starting lineup for the final four games beginning Feb. 27 vs. Saint Mary’s and averaged 15.8 points per game. He had season highs in points (20) and minutes played (38) in the game vs. Saint Mary’s. He scored 15 points and tied a career best with three steals vs. Portland on Feb. 29. He scored 13 points vs. Portland on March 5 and 15 points vs. Pepperdine on March 6 in the WCC Tournament before the remainder of the tournament was cancelled due to Covid-19.
2018-19: As a redshirt sophomore he averaged 15.0 points and started all 31 games. He was named second-team All-WCC and finished 11th in the conference in scoring. He led the Broncos in points per game and scored in double figures in all but six games, including posting eight games with 20 or more points. He made 77 three-point baskets and his 2.5 made three-pointers per game ranked third in the WCC. He was also ninth in the WCC in assists per game (3.2), 10th in free throw percentage (80.2) and 12th in three-point percentage (37.9). He had a career-high eight assist vs. Idaho State on Dec. 7. He played a career-high 45 minutes vs. USC on Dec. 21 and scored 21 points and tied a career best with eight assists. He scored 16 points and tied a career high with eight rebounds vs. Washington State on Dec. 29. He set career highs in points (30) and free throws made (12) against San Diego on Jan. 3...He was 12-for-12 from the free throw line, only the third Bronco to go perfect from the line with 12 or more makes at the Leavey Center (Steve Nash -21, Jared Brownridge - 13). He scored 28 points, including 24 in the second half vs. Pepperdine on Jan. 10, including making the game-winning free throws with 1.9 seconds remaining. He also scored 28 points vs. LMU on Feb. 28, also making 12 free throws (out of 13 attempts). He scored 26 points and made a career-high eight three-pointers vs. Portland on March 2, one short of tying the Santa Clara record for three-pointers made in a game.
2017-18: Sat out after transferring to Santa Clara due to NCAA rules.
2016-17: As a freshman at Southeast Missouri State, he averaged 7.5 points and played in 30 of the team’s 33 games. He made 12 starts, all coming in the final 13 games. He made 42.4 percent of his three-point shots which ranked fourth in the OVC...he also posted 2.3 assists per game. He made a team-leading 92.5 percent of his free throws. He scored in double figures 13 times. He scored a season-high 22 points and had a season-high four makes from beyond the three-point arc against Morehead State on Feb. 4. He had eight rebounds and three steals vs. Eastern Illinois on Feb. 11. He had a career-best 11 assists against UT-Martin on Feb. 18.
HIGH SCHOOL: Eaddy spent the 2015-16 season playing for The Skill Factory in Atlanta, Ga. He spent his senior season at Tennessee Preparatory Academy in Memphis, Tenn where he averaged 24.6 points and 4.2 assists per game in the 2014-15 season...He was named the National Association of Christian Athletes Elite Division Most Valuable Player. He played his first three years of high school at Notre Dame High in West Haven, Conn...He earned Southern Connecticut Conference honors for the Golden Knights.
PERSONAL: Tahj was born on July 5, 1996 in West Haven, Conn. His parents are Tanisha Younger-Eaddy and Emery Eaddy and he has two older brothers. His father played basketball at Norfolk State. Tahj earned his undergraduate degree in Communications at Santa Clara.
