Onyeka Joe Agu Signs with USC Men’s Basketball

The 6-foot-10 center from Belgium is the 11th newcomer for USC this season.
LOS ANGELES — Onyeka Joe Agu has signed with the USC Men's Basketball team, Head Coach Eric Musselman and the program announced Monday.
Agu, who will be eligible immediately for the Trojans, is the 11th newcomer for USC this season. The 6-foot-10 center from Belgium joins Joshua Hughes (Australia) and Eric Reibe (Germany) as the third international player for USC — the most Head Coach Eric Musselman has had on a roster during his collegiate coaching career.
"We are very excited to welcome Onyeka to the Trojan family," Musselman said. "Onyeka fits our culture of energy, effort and enthusiasm. He is a player who will bring physicality, athleticism and competitiveness to our program. Onyeka will be a great addition to our frontcourt, providing experience, rim-finishing, rebounding and defensive impact."
He most recently played two seasons for the Brussels Basketball club in the BNXT League — a first-tier league in Belgium and the Netherlands — where he averaged 7.3 points and 5.7 rebounds in 18 games this season. One of his best stretches of play came in November, when he earned BNXT Young Player of the Month honors after averaging 10.3 points on 66.6% shooting, 6.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.
Agu began his career at Dynamo Bertem in 2021 before moving to third-division team Bavi Vilvoorde for two seasons.
Agu is joining a USC team that looks to improve upon last year's 18-14 record with three returners, seven transfers and the No. 5 recruiting class in ESPN's rankings, which is USC's second-best recruiting class since ESPN started tracking that data in 2007. A full schedule is forthcoming.
