Thirty-Six Student-Athletes Receive Winter Academic All-Big Ten Honors

Student-athletes were recognized by the Big Ten Conference in the sports of basketball and swim and dive.
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Thirty-six USC student-athletes earned a spot on the Winter Academic All-Big Ten team for their work in the classroom from the sports of men's and women's basketball and men's and women's swim and dive.
When USC was a member of the Pac-12, there were only 24 athletes from these four sports represented on the Winter All-Academic team. Two athletes have been named to this list four times, and they are Danny Syrkin of Men's Swimming and Kaitlyn Dobler of Women's Swimming. There were also seven Trojans who received this award for the third time and seven athletes who secured this honor for the second time in their careers.
Overall, a total of 1,153 student-athletes were recognized by the Big Ten Conference in the sports of men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swim and dive, wrestling, men's and women's gymnastics, and ice hockey. To be eligible for the Academic All-Big Ten team, student-athletes must have been enrolled full-time for at least 12 months and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
