USC Men’s Swimming and Diving Finishes Fourth At Big Ten Conference Championships

MINNEAPOLIS - The No. 16 ranked USC men's swimming and diving program wrapped up the 2025 Big Ten Conference Championships in fourth place on Saturday evening, tallying 878 total points. All-in-all USC won two titles at the championship event.
Indiana won their fourth straight title with 1,579 points, followed by Michigan (1,148) and Ohio State (1,100).
Saturday saw multiple Trojans reach A finals with Krzysztof Chmielewski qualifying for the championship final in both the 1650y freestyle and the 200y fly. Chmielewski brought home the bronze medal in the 1650y freestyle, clocking a personal best 14:46.87 in the championship heat. In the 200y butterfly, he was sixth, finishing behind his brother Michal Chmielewski who touched fifth in 1:41.18.
Freshman Diego Balbi finished fourth in the bonus final of the 200y butterfly, cocking a personal best 1:46.69.
USC had a pair of Trojans reach the championship final of the 200y breaststroke as Ben Dillard (1:52.97) and Junhao Chan (1:52.99) finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Chris O'Grady won the consolation final in 1:53.66.
Oliver Sogaard-Andersen was fourth in the consolation final of the 100y freestyle, finishing with an NCAA B cut time of 42.75. In the C final, Luke Maurer was second (42.84) and Artem Selin was fourth (43.25).
Junior Griffin O'Leary won the C final of the 200y backstroke in 1:43.90, while Sanberk Oktar was seventh in the heat in 1:46.35.
Three divers advanced to the platform finals, with Laurent Gosselin-Paradis leading the way for USC as a championship final qualifier. Gosselin-Paradis would end up seventh in the final, tallying 383.70 points. In the consolation final, Robert Gref (303.60) and Moritz Wesemann (289.55) would finish fourth and sixth, respectively.
Troy closed out the meet with a fifth-place finish in the 400y freestyle relay as Sogaard-Andersen, Maurer, Dillard and Diggory Dillingham earned an NCAA A cut time of 2:49.78.
Next up, USC's divers will travel to Federal Way, Wash to compete at the three-day NCAA Zone E Diving Championships March 10-12 at the Weyerhaueser King County Aquatic Center.
