Select divers will vie for spots at NCAA Championships.
LOS ANGELES – Just days after competing at their first Big Ten Championship meet, six USC divers are set to compete in the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships from March 10-12. The competition, hosted by Utah, will take place at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.
Trojans Shangfei Wang, Laurent Gosselin-Paradis, Robert Gref and Big Ten 3-meter champion Moritz Wesemann will represent Troy, while Kate Miller and Grace Lee are the only two women set to compete from USC.
USC's divers will face stiff competition from around the region for spots at the upcoming NCAA Championships. Along with the host Utah, the Trojans will face divers from SDSU, Arizona, Arizona state, BYU, Cal Baptist, Denver, Fresno State, GCU, Hawai'I, Nevada, New Mexico, NAU, Northern Colorado, Pepperdine, Stanford, UCLA, UNLV and Wyoming.
Divers who finish in the top eight on 1-meter and 3-meter and top nine for the platform event will automatically qualify for the Women's NCAA Championships, set for March 19-22. On the men's side, divers who finish in the top six on 1-meter and 3-meter and top seven on platform will automatically qualify for the Men's NCAA Championships, set for March 26-29 also at Weyerhaeuser.
Individuals who earn an automatic qualification in one event and finish among the top 12 in another will secure NCAA qualification in the event as well.
