USC Men's Golf Finishes Co-Champions At Trinity Forest Invitational
October 07, 2025 | Men's Golf
DALLAS – The USC Men's Golf team claimed its second team championship of the young season on Tuesday at the Trinity Forest Invitational, finishing with a 32-under-par 832 to move up two spots on the final day earn co-champion honors along with Rice.
The Trojans were led by a closing round 9-under-par 63 from Jaden Dumdumaya, who posted the second lowest single-round score in USC history to grab third place individually. USC's 12-under 276 in round three was the lowest score of the day at the tournament.
"I was kind of playing it safe for most of the day and then I made the turn at 4-under and just told myself to go for it and make some more birdies so we could make a charge down the stretch," said Dumdumaya, who birdied nine of his 18 holes on the day and did not make a bogey. "The whole team is feeling good right now. We're just grinding and staying focused on what we need to do, and everyone is playing good golf right now."
After winning the Whirlwind Invitational to start the season and then taking third at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate last time out, this week's win marks the first time since 2012 that the Trojans have begun a season with three consecutive Top 3 finishes, and the first time in program history USC has opened a season with two wins in three events. The last time the Trojans won two events in one season was in 2018.
"It was a tough battle today," said Head Coach Mark Hankins. "We had some ground to make up and needed some heroics by these guys to pull off the W. Congrats to Jaden on a clean 9-under 63, to pull a lot of weight for our team on day three. I'm proud of the way he continued to push for birdies until the end, even though he was already way under par. Nico and Jack posted top 20's as well, while Luke had a solid first team tournament, and Antonio posted two solid rounds and a late ace to help the cause. It was truly a great team win."
USC had three Top 20 individual finishers at the tournament, with Dumdumaya finishing in a tie for 3rd place. Nicolas Dominguez finished in a tie for 12th place and Jack Buchanan finished in tied for 18th. Dumdumaya's final round 63 ties the second-lowest score recorded by a USC Trojan in a tournament round and is the lowest since Jackson Rivera in 2022 at the Arizona N.I.T. After opening rounds of 71-69, Dumdumaya shot a bogey-free 9-under-par 63. His previous collegiate low was 65, which he carded in the third round at the Whirlwind Invitational, and once last season.
After shooting 71-68 on the first two days of the event, Dominguez finished with a 70 on Tuesday to finish 7-under-par for the tournament. Buchanan finished with a final round 73.
After a disappointing opening round of 77, Antonio Safa shot rounds of 70-71 in the second and final rounds of the tournament to finish in 41st place. Safa's final round was highlighted by a hole-in-one on his 17th hole of the day, a 160-yard par 3.
Luke Stock finished at 2-under-par after a 76 in the final round. He claimed a share of 26th place after a pair of 69's to open the tournament.
