USC Men's Golf Set For The Golf Club Of Georgia Collegiate
October 23, 2025 | Men's Golf
ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- The USC men's golf team heads to Georgia as the Trojans tee it up at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in Alpharetta starting on Friday. The three-round event at the Lakeside course will feature a strong 14-team field and will run Oct. 24-26. Last season, the Trojans posted a Top 5 finish at the event.
"The Golf Club of Georgia is a top tournament in collegiate golf each year," said Head Coach Mark Hankins, whose team was ranked No. 27 in the initial scoreboard rankings this past week. "We've got some experience here and look forward to preparing to compete over three days. Our guys have put in good work the past two weeks, and we'll work hard to get into a tournament mindset and adapt to the changing conditions throughout."
The Trojans are off to their best start in program history, having won two of the first three tournaments of the season. It is the first time a USC team has won two of its first three events, and the first time since 2012 the Trojans have opened a season with three straight top-three finishes. The last time a Trojan team won two tournaments over the course of an entire season was in 2018.
The Trojans began their 25-26 campaign by hosting the Whirlwind Invitational in Arizona, posting a 52-under-par 812 to outpace the twelve-team field. The 52-under tournament score is the second-best in program history. Antonio Safa made history, winning the individual title and setting a new USC record for a 54-hole finish with a 17-under-par 199. USC then traveled to New Mexico and finished tied for third at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate. Nicolas Dominguez finished in fourth place individually, and Safa grabbed an 11th-place finish. Most recently, the Trojans finished tied for first at the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas. Jaden Dumdumaya fired a career-low 63 in the final round to lead the Trojans to victory. Dumdumaya's 9-under-par 63 tied the 2nd-lowest round in school history. Nicolas Dominguez (12th), Jack Buchanan (18th), and Luke Stock (25th) all placed in the top 25.
STARTING LINEUP:
1. Jaden Dumdumaya So. Benicia, Calif.
2. Nicolas Dominguez Jr. Mexico City, Mexico
3. Jack Buchanan So. Cape Town, South Africa
4. Luke Stock RS Oxted, England
5. Antonio Safa Sr. Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico
HEAR FROM THE LINEUP:
Sophomore Jaden Dumdumaya: "My confidence is pretty high, and I have been just trying to keep the game where it is at, staying focused and keeping momentum. Playing tournaments is more of a marathon than regular golf; you just have to focus on the whole tournament and not just one round. Patience rather than playing aggressively all the time."
Junior Nicolas Dominguez: "I have been trying to get my mind right and my game right and just try and go enjoy it out there. I played there last year. It's a great golf course and I enjoy it a lot. You have to hit shots, and that makes me play better because I can focus on hitting those shots."
Sophomore Jack Buchanan: "Having played this course before, it is helpful and maps out what I need to practice heading into the week. It isn't a very long course, so not being overly aggressive off the tee and short irons into greens with some tough Par 3s."
Redshirt Senior Luke Stock: "I'm just trying to focus on staying fresh, eating well, staying hydrated, and getting good sleep just so I can be ready for all three rounds this week. It is a standard Georgia course, and I have played a lot of golf in Georgia, so I feel comfortable."
Senior Antonio Safa: "The most important thing for me is reading the greens and hitting a lot of fairways. For this course, one of the biggest keys is being able to hit fairways and leave yourself in good spots for your second shot and being able to be aggressive on the second shot."
