LOS ANGELES — The USC Men's Golf Team has added University of Pacific transfer Deitrek Gill to its 2026-27 roster, the program announced Friday, June 19.
Gill comes to USC after playing for the University of the Pacific for three seasons, where he started as a walk-on and eventually became the Tigers' top player in 2025-26. At Pacific, he played 77 rounds across 26 tournaments, plus he had 15 top-25 finishes and seven top-10 finishes. His collegiate career low round was a 62 at The Goat in 2024, while his low 54-hole tournament score was a 203 at the 2024 Palouse Collegiate.
"We are excited to welcome Deitrek to our USC roster for 2026-27," Head Coach Mark Hankins said. "He is a strong Division I player who has real upside both as an individual and for our team. He's a dedicated student-athlete who will contribute immediately to our team's success."
This past season, Gill led the Tigers with a shared 12th-place finish at the West Coast Conference Championships, which was his best result at the conference championships. A WCC Preseason Team selection, Gill built upon his impressive 2024-25 season by leading Pacific with a 70.90 adjusted stroke average. He had nine top-25 finishes and three top-10 finishes — including a collegiate-best second-place finish at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational.
As a redshirt sophomore, Gill helped the Tigers make their first NCAA Regional appearance in 45 years and was a scorer for Pacific at the NCAA Urbana Regional. He had four top-10 and six top-25 finishes that season. This was an improvement over his first season at Pacific in 2023-24, in which Gill played in two events.
A native of Wellington, Kan., Gill won the 2022 4A State Championship title for Wellington High School while leading his team to its first team title in 20 years. Throughout his high school career, Gill won 12 individual titles and was a three-time all-league selection and a two-time all-state selection. He also lettered in basketball and tennis.
Gill will join a Trojans squad that returns four players from a team that won four tournaments and made the program's first NCAA Championship appearance since 2019.
