Nonconference Schedule Announced For USC Women’s Basketball
September 17, 2024 | Women's Basketball
Trojans have seven home games coming to Galen Center in November and December.
Coming off a historic run to the 2024 NCAA Elite Eight, the USC women's basketball program will set its course toward another successful showing when the 2024-25 season gets underway. The Women of Troy have their nonconference schedule in place, which opens with a trip to Paris and wraps with a visit to UConn. In between those exciting nonconference bookends, USC has seven home games set for Galen Center, along with two games in Palm Springs.
USC's 2024-25 roster is replete with talent, headlined by JuJu Watkins and Kiki Iriafen — the 2024 national Shooting Guard and Power Forward of the Year, respectively — along with fellow all-conference honorees Rayah Marshall and Talia von Oelhoffen. USC also boasts the top-ranked freshman class in the nation in a group of seven that includes 2024 McDonald's All-Americans Kayleigh Heckel, Avery Howell and Kennedy Smith.
The 2024-25 Women of Troy will make their debut in Paris in an Aflac Oui-Play Game against Ole Miss on Nov. 4 before returning stateside for a four-game home stand from Nov. 9-23. The Trojans will welcome three California foes — Cal Poly (Nov. 9), CSUN (Nov. 12) and Santa Clara (Nov. 15) — to Galen Center before setting up for a storied rivalry game against Notre Dame on Nov. 23. That marquee Trojan-Irish matchup marks the first face-off of a home-and-home series that will take USC to South Bend next season. This year, the Trojans and the Fighting Irish both enter their game at Galen Center as top teams both coming off stellar seasons with bright talent on both rosters, including USC sophomore Watkins and Notre Dame's sophomore Hannah Hidalgo.
Thanksgiving will take the Trojans inland for two games at the Acrisure Series in Palm Springs. The USC men will be out at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs as well, with a Trojan doubleheader tapped for Nov. 29. The Women of Troy will first face Seton Hall on Nov. 27, and then two days later will take on Saint Louis in an afternoon clash before the USC men play that evening.
From there, USC returns to Galen Center for three more nonconference tilts. The Women of Troy host California Baptist on Dec. 3, Fresno State on Dec. 10 and Elon on Dec. 15. Just before the holiday break, USC shoves off for Hartford, Conn., to engage in a rematch of the 2024 Elite Eight. USC and UConn will go back at it, starting a home-and-home series that sees the Trojans pay a visit to the Huskies on Dec. 21.
In addition to their exciting nonconference competition in 2024, the Trojans also are ready to kick off their first year as a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Big Ten women's basketball schedule has yet to be solidified, but the home and away opponents for 2024-25 are in place.
