Bennett joins the Trojans following two seasons at UC Davis.
LOS ANGELES — The USC women's basketball program has added a talented floor general in Ryann Bennett, who is signed on to join the Trojans as a junior on the 2026-27 roster, head coach Lindsay Gottlieb has announced. A native of Long Beach, Calif., Bennett arrives at USC following a standout two-year career at UC Davis, where she quickly established herself as one of the Big West Conference's most dynamic guards.
"I have known Ryann for years and she's always been a competitor, a winner and someone who elevates teams," Gottlieb said of Bennett. "She has proven at the collegiate level to also be someone who can score, create for others and bring a high IQ to the court. When the portal opened, Ryann is someone we targeted for not just these qualities but also for her mindset. We are excited to get to work and having Ryann in a Trojan jersey helps us in pursuit of all our goals."
In her sophomore campaign as an Aggie (2025-26), Bennett started all 34 games and led her team with 15.3 points per game, ranking eighth in the Big West Conference. She also paced the squad with 54 steals while adding eight blocks, showcasing her versatility on defense. Bennett recorded eight 20-point performances on the season, including a career-high 26 points in matchups against CSUN and Long Beach State.
She opened the year with back-to-back 21-point outings against Jessup and Idaho, earning Big West Player of the Week honors (Nov. 10). Bennett also notched her first career double-double with 14 points and 10 assists against Cal State Fullerton — the program's first 10-assist performance since 2021. Her breakout season culminated in All-Big West Second Team recognition, along with CSC Academic All-District honors.
As a freshman in 2024-25, Bennett earned a spot on the Big West All-Freshman Team after appearing in all 33 games. She averaged 6.4 points per game while shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from three. Bennett scored in double figures nine times and delivered a season-high 19 points in the regular-season finale. She also impressed in postseason play, including a nine-assist performance in the Big West Quarterfinals and a team-high 13 points in the championship game.
Prior to her collegiate career, Bennett was a decorated prep standout at St. Anthony's, earning All-CIF honors in both 2023 and 2024. She was named CIF 2AA MVP after leading her team to a Southern Section championship and received the prestigious John Wooden Award in 2024. Bennett also earned SB Live All-CIF First Team honors and was nominated for the CalHi Sports All-State team.
Bennett, 5-8, will join the Trojans as a junior, bringing proven production, leadership and experience as USC continues to build toward championship contention.
