USC Track & Field To Host Ron & Sharlene Allice Trojan Invitational This Weekend

Trojan women enter week No. 2 and men No. 16
The USC track and field team will be holding the annual Ron & Sharlene Allice Trojan Invitational at Allyson Felix Field at Loker Stadium on April 8, with the hammer and discus throw competitions being contested at the Colich Throws Center on April 7. The women's team is currently ranked No. 2 and the men's team No. 16. The other teams competing at the Trojan Invitational will be BYU (M-No. 2/W-No. 11), San Diego State and Texas A&M (W-No. 5). Long Beach State will also have a few athletes and relays competing at the Trojan Invitational.
TROJAN INVITATIONAL HAS A NEW NAME -- The annual Trojan Invitational has been renamed to the Ron and Sharlene Allice Trojan Invitational. Ron Allice served as USC's esteemed Director of Track & Field from 1995-2013. His men's teams posted seven top five finishes at the NCAA Championships and the women's team six top five finishes, including its first team title in 2001. His wife Sharlene was a big part of the program and passed away in 2011.
YOU MIGHT NEED A PROGRAM -- USC has added 31 new athletes to its track and field program since the end of the 2022 season. In fact, 41.3 percent of the roster is new from last season with 15 of the 40 women and 16 of the 35 men on the rosters competing in their first season as a Trojan.

COLICH THROWS CENTER DEDICATION -- The grand opening of the Colich Throws Center, hosted by the South Bay Athletic Club, will take place on April 7 at 11 a.m. The Colich Throws Center is located at 1451 W. Q Street in Wilmington, Calif. The beautiful throws facility solves USC's decades-long seach for a proper place to practice and hold throws events. Among the speakers will be L.A. City Counsilmen Joe Buscaino and Tim McOsker, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Los Angeles Harbor Mike Lansing, Olympic throwers Conor McCullough, Mac Wilkins and Martin Maric (USC new throws coach), USC Director of Athletics Mike Bohn and CEO of Antunovich Associates Joe Antunovich. The throwing competition begins at noon with the men's discus throw competition, followed by the women's discus throw, men's hammer throw and women's hammer throw.
ALLYSON FELIX FIELD NAMING CELEBRATION AND LUNCHEON -- The official naming of Allyson Felix Field will take place on April 10 at 11:30 a.m. Felix graduated from USC in 2008 and is the most decorated woman in Olympic T&F history with 11 medals, 7 gold. She also won two gold medals at the 2022 World Championships to push her career WC medal total to 20.
