No. 20 USC Men's Basketball Wins 7th Straight In 93-73 Rout Over Utah To Open Pac-12 Play

LOS ANGELES — Isaiah Mobley and Boogie Ellis combined for 40 points as No. 20 USC men's basketball opened Pac-12 play with a 93-73 win over Utah in front of an energetic home crowd Wednesday night.
The Trojans' 7-0 start to the season is their best since 2017 when USC won its first 14 games.
Mobley recorded a double-double for the second straight game with a career-high 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting and a career-high tying 13 rebounds.
Ellis finished with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting. He also had four assists and made several crowd-pleasing plays throughout the game.

Max Agbonkpolo contributed 16 points and scored mostly in the paint despite his role as an outside shooter for the Trojans.
Drew Peterson finished with 11 points and eight rebounds. Joshua Morgan grabbed eight boards and blocked four shots off the bench.
USC dominated Utah (5-2, 0-1 Pac-12) on the boards, owning a 51-32 rebounding advantage and grabbed 18 offensive rebounds. The Trojans shot 52.2% from the field and continued their clean record of ball-control with just eight turnovers in the game.
Both Gach had 28 points and David Jenkins Jr. scored 21 for the Utes.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Down two points at the 12:36 mark in the first half, the Trojans broke out on a 7-0 run. After the two teams scored two buckets each, USC went on a 13-0 run highlighted by Ellis scoring eight unanswered points in the stretch.

The two spurts allowed the Trojans to take a 48-28 lead into halftime and never allowed the Utes within single-digits for the rest of the game.

The Trojans take a trip to Pullman, Wash. on Saturday to face Washington State for USC's second early-season conference game. The Trojans return home on Tuesday to host Eastern Kentucky.
