TUCSON, Ariz. – The USC baseball team couldn't keep pace with a relentless Arizona offense on Friday night, falling 12-4 in the series opener to the Wildcats.
The Trojans fall to 20-25-1 overall and 9-12-1 in Pac-12 play with the loss, while Arizona moves to 23-24 overall and 11-14 in conference action.
The Wildcats jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first thanks to a pair of homers and never looked back. Arizona scored in five of the first six innings and had four multi-run frames. The Trojans got runs back in the third and fourth innings with a sacrifice fly from Blake Sabol and then an RBI groundout from Ben Ramirez, but Arizona was able to come back with a pair of runs to answer each time.
