Trojans Fall 8-5, Have Second Game of Doubleheader Rained Out

The Trojans and Wildcats were postponed in the second inning due to inclement weather last night, and resumed the game at noon on Sunday with plans to play the third and final game of the series soon after the first was finished. The teams made it through the first game of the day without incident, but soon after the completion of the contest thunderstorms rolled in and washed out the second game.
The Trojans fall to 20-26-1 overall and 9-13-1 in Pac-12 play, while Arizona moves to 24-24 overall and 12-14 in conference action.
The Trojans jumped out to a 3-1 lead last night, thanks to a three-run shot by Emilio Rosas in the second inning. After play resumed on Sunday, Arizona tied the game with a two-run homer in the third. The Wildcats would take the lead thanks to three runs in the fourth.
USC got a run back in the fifth courtesy of a solo-homer by CJ Stubbs.

- Brandon Perez went 2-for-2 with an RBI and two walks.
- Emilio Rosas hit his first career homer, a three-run shot in the second inning.
- CJ Stubbs hit a solo-shot for his sixth homer of the year.
- John Beller threw 2.1 innings, giving up one run.
COMING UP
The Trojans return to Southern California to face LMU on Tuesday and then host Oregon for a three-game set starting on Friday.
