The Women of Troy earned their 10th win over a ranked opponent on Sunday
LOS ANGELES – Still without three players including two starting pin-hitters, the 13th-ranked USC women's volleyball team (19-8, 11-5 Pac-12) took down No. 19 Washington State (19-7, 10-6) in four sets (25-18, 25-18, 22-25, 25-22) at Galen Center on Sunday, Nov. 11, to earn the team's 10th win over a ranked opponent and strengthen a hold on second place in the Pac-12 standings.

- Out of position at OH, Jr. OPP Emily Baptista turned in her third straight double-double (11th career) with 17 kills and 15 digs. She also served one of USC's five aces.
- Fr. setter Raquel Lázaro dished out 37 assists and had six digs, six blocks (two solo), with two aces and four kills.
- Sr. MB Madison Murtagh started at opposite and collected nine kills with four blocks.
- Jr. MB Jasmine Gross posted 10 kills (3e, 13att) and hit .538 to go with seven digs, three blocks, and a service ace.
- Fr. OH Brooklyn Schirmer got her first-career start and logged seven kills and 13 digs with two blocks (one solo).
- Sr. libero Victoria Garrick dug up 24 balls and had six assists. Her total moved her into USC's all-time top five for career digs. She now has 1,540 digs and went in front of Nancy Hillman (1,536 digs; 1985-88).
- For the Cougars, McKenna Woodford led with 15 kills. Taylor Mims had 10 kills with five digs and five blocks. Ashley Brown put up 36 assists and had the double-double with 13 digs.
- The score was tied eight times in the first set before back-to-back kills by Lázaro scored a 17-13 lead for the Women of Troy. USC hit .308 (16k, 4e, 39att) and earned sideout at a 73-percent rate to claim a 25-18 win in set one.
- Baptista produced seven of her kills in the second set and helped the Trojans get a second 25-18 win for a 2-0 lead in the match. USC reached .424 on the hitting scale (16k, 2e, 33att) and dug up 21 attacks (seven by Baptista).
- Neither team could find a rhythm in the third frame. WSU locked down the Trojans with seven blocks and USC had four blocks of its own. Both teams hit sub-.100 before the Cougars broke a 21-all tie to finish with a 25-22 win.
- Schirmer led the Trojans with four kills in the fourth. Though the score was tied three times, the fourth set was a tight affair. The Trojans opened several three- or four-point leads, but WSU closed to within a point each time; the last at 23-22. Schirmer's final kill gave USC match point before a WSU error sealed the Cougars' fate in a 25-22 loss.
- USC heads to the desert for matches at Arizona (Nov. 16) and Arizona State (Nov. 18). The Trojans and Wildcats will appear on a Pac-12+ stream at 5 p.m. PT. USC-ASU will be aired by the Pac-12 Networks at 3:30 p.m. USC's final regular-season home match is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 21) at Galen Center.
- USC improved to 51-15 all-time against Washington State.
- The Trojans were without starting outside hitters Khalia Lanier and Brooke Botkin as well as senior defensive specialist Reni Meyer-Whalley. All three were amidst concussion protocols and held out of play.
- USC faced its 17th ranked opponent of the season and improved to 10-7 against ranked foes.
- The Trojans improved to 160-35 all-time at Galen Center and to 9-3 this season.
- USC's win keeps the Trojans alone in second place in the Pac-12 standings with two weeks of the regular season remaining.
