Walnut Creek, Calif. -- Three members of the USC women's basketball team (15-13, 10-8) were named to the 2000 Pac-10 honorable mention team, announced Pac-10 commissioner Tom Hansen today. Sophomore guard Tiffany Elmore, junior forward Tashara Carter and senior forward Danielle Golay all received the honor after leading the Women of Troy to their best record in three seasons.
This is the second-straight year Elmore has been named to the honorable mention team. Averaging 10.5 points per game, she has posted double-figures in eight of the last nine games. Because of her contributions against Arizona and Arizona State, Elmore was named the Pac-10 Player of the Week on Feb. 21. A three-year starter for USC, Carter remains as one of the team's most consistent players. She currently leads the team in assists (2.3 apg) and steals (1.7 spg), and has averaged 10.1 points per game this season. Golay averaged 11.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and a 47.5 shooting percentage throughout 1999-2000. She has ranked as high as fifth in the Pac-10 in scoring, and has led the Trojans in all three categories.
