LOS ANGELES (AP) - Playing in front of Pauley Pavilion's largest women's basketball crowd, No. 10 UCLA defeated Southern California, 94-53, on Saturday.
USC's injury-plagued season continued, as senior center Adrain Williams (USC's leading scorer) hurt an ankle early in the first half and did not return.
Already this season, USC has lost four of its six guards -- Kristin and Kim Clark, Kiyoko Miller and Erica Mashia -- to various injuries.
The Bruins (15-4, 7-0 Pac-10) hit 21 of their 28 first-half shots for a 49-20 halftime lead, winning their eighth consecutive game.
Maylana Martin led five Bruins in double figures with 18 points, while Ayesha Rembert added 14.
Tiffany Elmore had 16 points and Tashara Carter 15 for USC (6-10, 2-5).
UCLA never trailed, breaking out to 5-0 and 14-4 leads as the Trojans hit just nine of 33 first-half shots.
The crowd of 9,530 was bolstered by free tickets UCLA gave to elementary and high school students and teachers.
The previous record crowd was 9,351 for the Bruins' 90-74 victory over Maryland in the now-defunct Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' championship game March 25, 1978.
