THIS SEASON: A 2016 Olympian for Brazil, Victória Chamorro enters her final season at USC.
2017: Chamorro averaged 10.23 saves and 3.16 goals-against in 15 appearances as a junior… Named MPSF Player of the Week after her 12-save performance against Arizona State on Feb. 12… Recorded a career-high 17 saves against Hawai’i in a complete-game effort… Registered eight saves against Michigan in the NCAA Tournament.
2016: Chamorro averaged 6.7 saves and 4.7 goals-against in her 13 appearances as a sophomore... Recorded a season-high seven saves in four games, including complete-game victories over UCLA and Stanford... Collected four saves in the second half of action in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
2015: Chamorro averaged 7.5 saves and 5.16 goals against per game as a true freshman... Her 207 total season saves was the most ever by a USC freshman goalie and the ninth most all-time... Earned All-American Honorable Mention and All-MPSF Honorable Mention... Also selected to the MPSF All-Newcomer Team... Appeared in 29 games, recording six games with double-digit saves... Set her career high with 15 saves vs. UC Irvine... Collected 28 saves at the MPSF Tournament and 29 saves at the NCAA Tournament, including 12 stops vs. Cal in the NCAA third-place game.
NATIONAL TEAMS: Chamorro is a member of the Brazilian National Team... A member of Brazil’s 2016 Olympic Team... Competed at the 2015 FINA Junior World Championships... Competed for Brazil at the 2014 FINA World League Super Final in China... Also competed at the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona... As a member of the Brazilian Junior National Team, won silver at the 2014 UANA Junior Pan-American Games in Riverside... Also won bronze medals at the UANA Junior Pan-American Games in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013... Won silver at the 2013 UANA World Championship Qualification Tournament... Won two Junior South American Championships in 2011 and 2013.
HIGH SCHOOL: Chamorro graduated from Centro Educational de Lagoa in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.. Played club for five years with Flamengo, winning four Junior National Championships... Selected Best Goalie three times... Won 2010 Senior National Championship with Flamengo... Also played a year with Paulistano in Brazil, placing second at the Senior National level in 2014... Also has played club in the U.S. for Diablo Water Polo.
PERSONAL: Chamorro is majoring in economics... Parents are Luciana and Vitor... Her mother Luciana ran track in high school and college... Enjoys going to the beach, Skyping with her family, watching movies and playing volleyball in her free time... Lists Michael Jordan as her biggest sports hero... Has always wanted to skydive and learn to surf... Hopes to travel to the Caribbean, Europe, Australia, Bali, New Zealand and South Africa... Hopes to travel and earn a masters degree after graduation... Born July 10, 1996.
