Bio
THIS SEASON: Becca Mann, a U.S. National Teamer who is already an internationally accomplished distance and open water swimmer with NAG records to her credit, is a 2018 sophomore looking to improve on a strong freshman campaign that saw her debut as an NCAA individual scorer.
2017: Mann put points on the board as a 2017 freshman, finishing 15th in the 500y free (4:40.61, 4:38.77 in prelims) at the NCAA Championships. She was also 20th in the 1650y free (16:04.57) and 38th in the 400y IM (4:13.92) … Mann’s 2017 Pac-12 Championships were highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the 1650y free in 16:08.10. She was also 12th in the 500y free (4:42.44) and 16th in the 400y IM (4:17.00) ...In USC’s victory over UCLA, she crushed the pool and meet record in the 1650y free in an NCAA ‘A’ cut of15:52.30. She won five races on the year … She earned CSCAA Scholar-All-American first team honors … Mann represented the U.S. at the 2017 World University Games, but did not swim as the American delegation withdrew its swimmers due to expected high air and water temperatures on race day.
HIGH SCHOOL: Mann, who was home schooled, already has a long and accomplished resume. She has competed twice in the Open Water World Championships, finishing 14th in the 10K in 2015 while eighth in both the 5K and 10K in 2013. She was 10th in the 800m free at the indoor 2015 World Championships and also represented the U.S. at the 2014 Pan Pacs, taking fourth in the 800m free, 10th in the 400m IM and ninth in the 10K ... She won the 10K at the 2015 U.S. Open Water Nationals and was third in the 5K and also won the 10K in 2014. She was second in both the 5K and 10K at the 2013 U.S. Nationals, was 11th in the 10K in 2012 and 2nd in the 5K and 11th in the 10K in 2011. She first competed at the U.S. Nationals in 2010, finishing 19th in the 5K ... She won gold in the 10K, 1500m free and 400m IM at the 2012 Junior Pan Pacs and silver in the 800m free relay and won the 1500m free at the 2013 World Juniors ... Mann competed at both the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Trials. In 2012, she qualified in numerous events, but raced in just one and was a 400m IM finalist, finishing fifth. She raced in the 400m and 800m free in 2016, but a back injury suffered weeks before Trials hampered her efforts and she finished ninth in the 800m free (0.46 from the final) and 14th in the 400m free ... Mann holds the NAG (13-14) records in the 1650y free, 1500m free and 400m IM.

PERSONAL: She was born on Nov. 26, 1997 ... As a 10-year-old, Mann became the youngest person to cross the Maui Channel, completing the 9.9 mile stretch in 6:26:46 ... Mann comes from a family of triathletes and has competed in the sport as well ... She self-published her own novel in 2014 called The Stolen Dragon Of Quanx, the first part of a planned triology ... She is majoring in Writing for Screen and Television.
