Bio
BREAKDOWN: McKay Anderson is a 6-5, 190-pound senior guard who adds to USC’s depth at the guard position. He came to USC prior to the 2018-19 season from Pasadena City College with two seasons of eligibility remaining. He began his career at Southern Utah for the 2013-14 season.
2019-20: Anderson suffered a ruptured patellar tendon in his right knee in practice on Sept. 27 and had surgery on Oct. 1...he missed the entire 2019-20 season. His surgery was performed by Dr. Seth Gamradt and Dr. Alex Weber.
2018-19: Anderson appeared in five games and played a total of seven minutes. He became eligible for game action on Dec. 21 and played that night against Southern Utah, his first collegiate team. Anderson made his only shot and played four minutes against Southern Utah. He also played at Oregon on Jan. 13, vs. UCLA on Jan. 19, vs. Arizona on Jan. 24 and at California on Feb. 16.
BEFORE USC: Anderson played the 2016-17 season at Pasadena City College. He averaged 18.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, while making 51.9 percent of his shots. He led the Lancers in scoring and rebounding. He was named to the All-South Coast Conference team. He began his career at Southern Utah during the 2013-14 season and averaged 2.0 points and 1.2 rebounds in 23 games. He was 9-for-19 from three-point range (47.4 percent). Anderson then went on a two-year church mission.
HIGH SCHOOL: Anderson graduated from La Verne Lutheran in 2013. He averaged 10.5 points as a senior and helped lead La Verne Lutheran to a 26-8 record and to the CIF 4A title game, falling 70-52 to Serra. He was a three-year captain.
PERSONAL: McKay was born on November 30, 1994 in Pasadena, Calif. His parents are Lisa and Roger Anderson and he has four siblings, Haley, Whitney, Rhett and Clarke. He was married to his wife Casey on Oct. 13, 2018.His hobbies include snowboarding, hiking, beach activities and reading. McKay is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. He is majoring in International Relations Global Business at USC, with a minor in Mandarin Chinese. He is in the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps at USC.
