2023: Ta’ufo’ou, a returning starter, will once again look to be a contributor on the Trojan defensive line as a redshirt senior in 2023.
2022: Ta’ufo’ou recorded 27 tackles, including 5.5 for loss of 14 yards (with 1 sack for minus 6 yards), 2 fumble recoveries and 2 QB hurries while appearing in all 14 games with 13 starts (all but the Cotton Bowl versus Tulane) as a redshirt junior in 2022.
He had 3 tackles, including 1 for loss of 1 yard against Stanford. He recorded 2 tackles, including 1 for loss of 6 yards (with 1 sack for minus 6 yards) against Fresno State. He tallied 3 tackles at Oregon State, including 1 for loss of 1 yard and a QB hurry. He notched 4 tackles against Arizona State and 2 against Washington State. He had 3 tackles (1 for a loss) against San Jose State, 2 tackles versus Stanford, 3 tackles against Oregon State, 2 tackles against Utah, 1 tackle against both Notre Dame and Arizona, 4 tackles (0.5 for loss) at Arizona State and 2 tackles versus BYU.
2020: Ta’ufo’ou was a backup defensive lineman as a redshirt freshman in 2020. Overall in 2020 while appearing in 2 games (Arizona State and Arizona), he made 1 tackle (at Arizona).
2019: Ta’ufo’ou, who enrolled at USC in the spring of 2019 after graduating a semester early from high school, saw brief action in 3 games (Arizona, California, Iowa) at defensive tackle as a first-year freshman in 2019, but did not make a tackle. He was able to redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: He made 2018 PrepStar All-Western Region, Cal-Hi Sports All-State second team, All-CIF Division 4 Defensive Player of the Year, Los Angeles Daily News All-Area first team and All-Camino League Defensive Lineman of the Year as a senior linebacker and running back at Grace Brethren High in Simi Valley (Calif.). In 2018, he had 97 tackles, including 17 for losses (with 9.5 sacks), 6 forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a deflection on defense, ran for 166 yards on 24 carries (11.1 avg) with 2 TD and had a 12-yard reception on offense and had a 16-yard kickoff return. Grace Brethern won the 2018 state 2AA and CIF Division 4 titles.
As a junior in 2017, he made Cal-Hi Sports All-State Medium Schools first team, Cal-Hi Sports Juniors third team, All-CIF Division 8 Player of the Year and All-Tri-Valley first team as he had 89 tackles, including 10 sacks, plus an interception for a TD, 3 fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and a deflection on defense and ran for 35 yards on 10 carries (3.5 avg) and caught 2 passes for 33 yards (16.5 avg) on offense. Grace Brethern was the 2017 CIF Division 4 champion and state Division 2AA runner-up.
As a 2016 sophomore, he made All-Tri-Valley first team as he had 39 tackles, including 6.5 sacks, and a deflection, plus 67 yards on 3 carries (22.3 avg) with a TD and caught an 8-yard pass.
As a 2015 freshman, he had 39 tackles, including 7 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery, plus 25 yards on 4 carries (2.5 avg).
