CAREER: In his 4-year career at SMU (2019-22), he saw action in 23 games, primarily on special teams, and collected 11 tackles.
2023: Palmer, who transferred to USC in the fall of 2023 from SMU, will compete for playing time at inside linebacker as a redshirt senior.
SMU: As a redshirt junior in 2022, he played in 13 games primarily on special teams and collected 8 tackles.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2021, he played in 10 primarily on special teams and tallied 3 tackles.
He did not see any action as a redshirt freshman in 2020 or as a true freshman in 2019.
HIGH SCHOOL: He graduated from San Ramon Valley (Calif.) HS, where he was a three-time letterwinner. He was named an All-EBAL linebacker and earned the Coaches Award as a senior in 2018.
He helped the Wolves to an EBAL Championship as a junior in 2017 as San Ramon went undefeated.
He recorded 100+ tackles during each of his final two seasons (2017 & 2018).
As a 2016 sophomore, Palmer was named the San Ramon Defensive MVP.
He was a four-time Scholar-Athlete and earned the Academic Excellence Award in the Career Technical Education department at San Ramon as a senior.
He also played club rugby at San Ramon.
PERSONAL: He earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance with a minor in Computer Science from SMU in the spring of 2023. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Computer Science at USC. His mother, Trudy, is a former marathon runner, and his father Rick, is a professional BMX Racer who is a four-time World Champion and had two National No. 1 in the World titles in 1985.
