Brooks, a three-star recruit, is rated as the No. 48 player in the state of California by ESPN and No. 117 247Sports and No. 167 by Rivals. He is touted as the No. 53 defensive lineman in the country by ESPN, No. 161 by 247Sports and No. 199 by Rivals.
As a senior in 2025, he recorded 50 tackles, including 14 for loss with 8 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. Prior to the season, he was named to the 2025 Cal-Hi Preseason All-State Third Team. He was also selected as one of the Press Telegram Top 10 Defensive Players to Watch in 2025 and a 2025 Los Angeles Times Top Defensive Linemen.
As a junior in 2024, he tallied 39 tackles, including 12 for loss with 1.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 1 PBU. He was selected to the 2024 All-CIF Southern Section Division 8 Second Team. He was named the 2024 CIF Southern Section Division 8 Co-Defensive MVP. St. Pius X-St. Matthias were 2024 CIF Southern Section Region 8 Champions.
