2016: Herrera did not see action as a reserve inside linebacker as a walk-on junior in 2016.
JUNIOR COLLEGE: He redshirted in 2015 at El Camino Junior College in Torrance (Calif.). He made 10 tackles (1.5 for losses) as a 2014 sophomore linebacker at El Camino JC. He had 7 tackles (with a sack) as a 2013 freshman linebacker at Los Angeles Harbor Junior College in Wilmington (Calif.).
HIGH SCHOOL: He played linebacker and tight end at Serra High in Gardena (Calif.), where he had 50 tackles and 2 deflections as a 2012 senior co-captain.
He had 29 tackles (with a sack) and 2 deflections as a 2011 junior.
He had 4 tackles and a deflection as a 2010 sophomore. Current Trojans Olajuwon Tucker, Jalen Greene, Jalen Jones, Rasheem Green, John Houston Jr., Deontay Burnett, Oluwole Betiku Jr. and C.J. Pollard also prepped at Serra.
